"I just wanted to say a big thank you for everything you have done for me. You've all given me the courage and strength to take the next step in life and step out of my 'comfort zone'. Thank you so much."
Stephanie McCombe, NVQ Levels 2 & 3 in Childcare & Education.
All of our programmes lead towards National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs), which prove your ability and skills to do a job.
Our Apprenticeship qualifications are work-based which means that most of the training is carried out in the workplace, offering you on-the-job-experience and giving you the skills you need first hand. The rest is provided at college - we will sort out the arrangement and funding. It's simple: get skills and get paid to learn.
Many learners not only gain full employment but go on to do further qualifications with us. You can gain an Apprenticeship through the following programmes:
Are you 16-18 and NEET (Not in full-time Education, Employment or Training)?
We have a single goal: to improve your skills as a young person and adult to ensure we have a world-class workforce – it's all about you.
If you are leaving or have just left school and are unsure of the future, then don’t worry. We have a number of programmes which can help you on the path to find the right job for you:
(Training Outreach Rugeley Cannock & Hednesford) is aimed at young people aged between 16 & 18 who are in the NEET group.
TORCH is an Outreach project which goes out into the streets to meet & engage the harder to reach young people in their own environment. We offer referrals, support, advice and guidance to help move them down a positive career path. We also arrange basic assessments and assist with CV writing. Ask about our activity/taster days which offer a broader view of what TORCH is all about.
Our strong links and established partnerships with local colleges, the Princes Trust, local Training Providers, Police, Street Wardens and the Connexions Service means that learners will be encouraged to strive for their goals. The TORCH project also organises outdoor activities as a means to engagement for learners, such as Powerkiting, Kite Buggying and Team Building.
There is then the opportunity to move on to Entry to Employment (E2E,) Foundation Apprenticeship, Advanced Apprenticeship or even employment, all of which we lend further unwavering support to.
We will help you develop your employability skills so that you can progress to an apprenticeship with a higher level of confidence and competence. Our aim is for you to be able to deliver the skills necessary in any employer’s company or business. We will build you an individual learning and support plan designed specifically for your own goals. Our intensive 12-week training will ensure your skills meet the needs of local employers whilst increasing your job prospects. At the end of the course you will have developed and improved your key basic skills as well as possessing the qualities and attributes an employer would look for.
Our 16-week timetable has a flexible schedule offering one-to-one support. We’ll show you how to improve your basic skills, your CV and your interview technique to get that job you really want! We’ll also help you build your confidence, motivation, communication skills and self-esteem.
We understand. Our E2E (Entry to employment) training gives you the opportunity to improve the range of skills you need to be successful in life and in training or work. You will be able to develop successful team working skills and improve your English and Maths – both important skills that will take you up to the next rung on the ladder. It will help you make the next right step whether it is a job, apprenticeship, another training programme or college course.
Throughout the training learners will work towards milestone achievements agreed with them when they start their training. Many people will move from E2E to FMA or AMA courses. You will be able to discuss what is best for you with 5Cs training staff and your Connexions Service Personal Advisor.
